School Supplies Provided to Grades K-3
Posted on 06/22/2018
The South Kitsap School District is committed to removing barriers to learning and providing equitable access to education for our students. Part of that commitment is lessening the financial burden of purchasing school supplies by our families.

Essential supplies will be distributed to students at their school open house or similar event prior to the first day of school. While there are plans to expand the program in the future, the initial phase will apply to students in Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades. The following list of supplies will be provided to K-3 students:

Glue Sticks
#2 Pencils
Dry Erase Markers
Colored Markers
Wide Rule Lined Paper
Composition Notebooks
Spiral Notebooks

South Kitsap School District will not host the Back to School Celebration this year. Instead, school supplies will be delivered to schools for K-3 teachers to distribute directly to students.

“We still need the support of community partners and service organizations. We hope that those who typically attended or supported the Back to School Celebration will contribute to the expansion of the school supply program,” stated Superintendent Karst Brandsma. “This shift will put the focus back on the students in our schools which was the original intent of the celebration event.”

Monetary and supply donations are encouraged and more information is available through the Office of School & Family Support at 360-874-7054.
